The markets are very calm, the trend is rather negative, but there is no panic. Demand in southern Europe and worldwide is weak, but as stocks are low, prices remain stable at the moment

And in Switzerland?

Swiss exports continue to suffer from the strong franc. Fortunately, the exchange rate seems to be stabilizing at the moment. This can change very quickly in the current unstable world.

The question: Crash in the new year?

There is no clear direction at the moment, demand is weak, production is also low and stocks are empty. Nevertheless, the trend at the moment is more negative than positive. However, the lower prices are not coming directly from the producers.

Our forecast for Q1:

We expect prices to remain stable until the end of March. After that, higher production will meet with subdued demand. The question will be whether there is enough space in the warehouses to accommodate the additional production.
