Where does the milk price stand in September? Market report 28-7-23
Cheese inconsistent, protein concentrates continue to fall, sports milk is stable, skimmed milk powder and milk fat have recovered somewhat.
The market continues to be quiet; the trend is rather negative. Cheese stocks are low and young products are currently being delivered. Whether this will continue depends primarily on milk production and demand.
We are now reporting the feed costs for dairy cows, which have fallen slightly.
And in Switzerland?
In Switzerland, there is a tendency for older cheeses to be delivered, which indicates that stocks are high. A crucial question is how the exchange rate will develop. Will the franc strengthen, similar to last summer, or not?

Although we are not aware of it, some dairies are currently struggling with extremely low profit margins. For this reason, we remain confident in our forecast that there will be a market shakeout in the next 12 months.
Our forecast for Q4:
Currently, there is hardly any trading for Q4. Buyers and sellers are waiting for September to become active. The trend is rather negative now.
