An incredible comeback of the cheese affineur Walo von Mühlenen at the World Cheese Award 2012 held 28.11.-3.12.12 in Birmingham. In 2011 the family left the family company von Mühlenen AG and started to develop a new assortment of fine Swiss cheeses under the Brand of Selection Walo von Mühlenen. This selection of cheeses [TK1] was entered at the World cheese Award 2012, three ended in the final of the best 16 and one cheese was as best new cheese. Over 2780 cheeses from all over the globe participated in 2012 at the World Cheese Award, but only Selection Walo von Mühlenen managed to place 3 under the best 16. This is the best result a single producer has ever achieved and in that respect von Mühlenen was the most successful participant at the Word Cheese Award 2012.

Der World Cheese Award was held this year again at the BBC Good Food Show in Birmingham. There was a strong competition with over 2780 cheese from all over the world very strong. Many [TK2] Swiss Switzerland cheese makers participated at this event. Selection Walo von Mühlenen participated with several cheeses from different dairies and has won in total 14 certificates.

The impressive result underlines the high quality of the Selection Walo von Mühlenen cheese. The family von Mühlenen has won many awards in the past. The most important are certainly the three world champion titles at Word Championships 2006 in Wisconsin.

For the World championships in Wisconsin 2006, Walo von Mühlenen had selected only two cheeses and won 3 Gold medals. He won the World Champion title for the best Emmental, the best Gruyere and the best cheese overall. He remains the most successful participant at these World Championships. And without question, the cheese from Walo von Mühlenen is always a World champion.
